Colour Issues

Hi Alex

We are experiencing issues with colour - basically, what we see on the screen is NOT what comes out of the printer - this is particulary affecting word clouds in black/grey colour - these are coming out brown (shades of) - we dont have any red colour added to the cloud, although these colours are printing perfectly if typed in to Illustrator as a text(therefore we know is not a printer setting issue). Also other colours are coming our 'duller' than previously (nothing has changed at our end - same printer/paper/inks)

Any idea how to fix this issue please?

Kind regards

Hi! If the colors on the screen don't match the printed colors it basically means that either your screen or your printer (or both) are not calibrated. It has nothing to do with Tagul.

Hi Alex

That is what we originally thought as well and re-calibrated our equipment. However, all images downloaded from customers (emailed to us) are printed perfectly, and so is the majority of our clouds on your platform. Its only a few clouds that are causing this issue (and they were printing fine up to our upgrade point in mid July) so I cant see this being a calibration issue.

If you see those clouds correctly on your screen then I don't see anything we can do from Tagul side to fix the issue. May be it is the software that you use for printing? Which format you downloaded the word clouds in (PNG, SVG, EPS)? Could you please try to download and print in another format?

Hi Alex

Software is the same as before - as I said, we've not changed anything at all. All our clouds are being downloaded in PNG format. I will try and download them in different format and will let you know

Hi Alex

We have been trying to fix the colour issue for this past week - any image sent to us by our customers (picture)prints (from Illustrator) and presses perfectly, with true colours, onto the items. As soon as we create word cloud on tagul, download it and transfer it onto AI (illustrator), these come out faded (basically black colours come out brown/grey; turquoise colour comes out green and so on?). We have tried downloading different formats, but having the same problem. I fail to understand why there is no problem with colouring of normal images, however images downloaded from tagul print awful - surely thats not an issue with calibration (as we have done that)- is there maybe different setting for colour, or for illustrator that needs to be adjusted? We have been using this for over a year, and its only since July, from our licence renual, that we are having this problem (we have not changed anything in terms of software/hardware/paper/printer/ink - all are the same)

To be honest I also fail to understand why it is happening. But let's try to figure out.

1) When you look at your word cloud in the Tagul generator does it look fine or the colors are not correct?
2) Download your word cloud image in PNG format and open it in GIMP. Are the colors correct?
3) Try to print it from GIMP. Are the colors correct?

Also please send me the word cloud image you tested to Tagul email so I could check it.

Hi Alex
Thank you for your reply. I will try things you've suggested and will get back to you later today. Meanwhile - I have a few word art orders through today, when working on them, could I send you images of the print as well as final product so you can see this - with reference to the relevant word cloud on our account? Hopefully will get a few photo orders as well so you can compare. If this is possible, what emai address do I send it to?

Hi, I am experiencing the same, i thought it was just me but colours definatly aren't as vibrant the past couple of weeks, again i've not changed anything at all from before, black, red, bright pink and royal blue are the biggest differences.
I'm not very good with anything technical still learning a lot which is why i love this site but i just thought i'd let you know i have noticed too.
